The Peace and Hope Academy which locates in Kinyinya, Gasabo District held its annual graduation ceremony for TOP class children who are now ready to start the P1 class in the year 2019.
The Graduation ceremony which took place on Friday 16th November 2018, was graced by various officials include officials from the Ministry of Education, the Executive Secretary of Kinyinya Sector, parents and other guests from various sectors.
The Peace and Hope Academy Legal representative, Albert Musabyimana said “In past years we have been struggling to set up required infrastructures for quality education, but this time we are celebrating because we are now at the advanced level comparing with the past two years.”
The school started as a Kindergarten in 2012 mainly focusing on Genocide Survivors families.
It is at that time the school was launched as the Kuraneza Early Childhood Development (ECD) Centre with 48 vulnerable Kids from child-headed households most of them were orphaned by the 1994 Genocide against Tutsis.
Today the school has 150 students which include those in Nursery school and others studying in P1 to P3.
The Peace and Hope Academy plan is to extend its premises to be able to serve over 400 children from different parts of Kinyinya sector with special targets to children from Murama and Gasharu cells.
